The Fulbright Program
The program was established in 1946 under legislation introduced by late Senator J. William Fulbright, to promote the peace process through cultural exchanges between United States and the other countries in the world. It is the oldest governmental program of cultural exchanges in the world. It Operates in more than 160 countries.
From 1946 to this day the Program has awarded 400,000 scholarships.
Every year it awards approximately 9,000 Fulbright scholarships
